Hello, my name is Amelie Bond.

I am a member of the Discovery and Education district.

As you know, we are about to blast of to Aurora56z.
Here is a list of things that I think we should take on the ark.
  • Scientific Gadgets eg. telescope
  • Materials for schools eg. pencils and paper

This is what my ark looks like:

and this is from the back.

As you can see, my ark is made up of 5 large rectangular rooms. From the first picture you can see the front room which is the viewing panel as well as the control room, accessible only to the flight crew. From the second photo you can see the whole ark. The rooms on the left and right are the people holders. Each room hold approximately 600,000,000 beds and 150,000,000 rooms, 4 beds per room along with 1 bathroom per room. In the closest room on the bottom picture are dining and entertainment areas divided into levels. There are 4 dining halls with 2 large kitchens with each hall on the bottom level and 5 entertainment areas that include cinemas, gyms playgrounds for children and shops of every kind on the second floor and just some space to sit and chat on the third level. Along with all of this in the centre you have the storage area. This is for all the luggage.

Here is some information about the arc I have constructed

As you can see on the Discovery and Education page that we are in charge of laboratories schools etc. I have been chosen to do medical research.
First I am listing some of the departments you need for a medical science lab:
  • Microbiology. The work here is mainly concerned with cultures, to look for suspected germs which, if found, are further identified based on biochemical tests. Also, sensitivity testing is done to determine whether the germ is sensitive or resistant to a certain medicine. Results are reported with the identified organism/s and the type and amount of drug/s that should be prescribed for the patient.
  • Parasitology is a microbiology unit that investigates parasites.
  • Virology focuses on identification of viruses in specimens such as blood.
  • Genetics which performs DNA analysis.

With these labs we will conduct research on how to cure diseases and viruses.

Also a list of scientists and assistants the are required:
  • Pathologist. The scientist who researches the cures.
  • Clinical Biochemist. This scientist mainly analyses body fluids.
  • Pathologist's assistant.
  • Biomedical scientist. This person is a scientist trained in biology, particularly with medicine.
  • Medical laboratory scientist. This person is a healthcare professional who also analises body fluids.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician. This person deals with the technology.
  • Medical Laboratory Assistant

The main technology we will use is LIS which is the Laboratory Information System which holds all of the information
of patients and test requests.

There are 2 types of laboratories. There are private and hospital. I think that with the hospital labs that we should talk to Recreation because they build the hospital and we build the lab attached to it.

In Minecraft I am building a medical research lab with Lexie Calabria.

These are some photos of our lab so far:

This is the Microbiology level.

This is the Virology level. Basically all the levels are the same with a couple of labs.

This is the storage area. Here we store some liquids and specimens that we may need later for testing. STAFF ONLY.

This is Reception in case anybody would like to visit a scientist or see what we are doing and a waiting area.

This is the underground storage for things that need to be frozen or preserved.

I think that we have some of the important departments, but our fellow district member Zoe Figgis has also built a medical research lab for just cancer. The roofs and floors of the levels are wooden planks and the walls and roof is made of iron for stability and aesthetics. In the levels we have multipole labs for research and a computer for instant research if needed. We have many windows because the scientists will be spending a lot of time squinting and looking at tiny things so they need plenty of light. We have the underground freezer for frozen samples of blood etc. for when the scientists need it later on and if it needs to be preserved or for just things that need to be kept cold. We built the attic for further storage for things that don't need to be preserved or need easy access.

Now that we have finished our lab we are building a high school. Because there is virtually no space left on the ground we decided it would be cool and easier to build it in the trees. The only problem is that there aren't that many trees all together of the same height so to solve this problem we will have wooden walkways from tree to tree. We have not taken any screen shots yet. So far we have built half of the first room and an entrance with most of the boardwalks but it deleted so we aren't as far into it as we should be.
